   Y & the Future

In an effort to invite community participation in its visioning, the Foothills YMCA undertook a community request for proposal for sites suitable to house or construct a permanent facility. The Y desired an open process in its site selection that incorporated input from community stakeholders, weighing near-term need with long-term vision.

Following a submission of proposals and review by the entire Board of Directors, the organization announced its interest in the Bountyland and Sheep Farm Road area, the population center of the county. In addition to announcing its selection, the organization announced that former U.S. Rep. Gresham Barrett has agreed to chair the capital campaign.
